This year, IIGP2.0 University Challenge received overwhelming 800+ applications from 700+ cities across India focusing on 15+ sectors such as Agriculture, Healthcare, Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence and more.
The applications received were evaluated on the technical & conceptual design, value to mission, cost & benefit, and qualitative attributes such as team dynamics, creativity, market assessment and roadmap.
The shortlisted Top 40 student teams competed at the IIGP 2.0 University Challenge Downselect Competition at IIT Bombay over 28th – 29th June 2019. The teams presented their innovations to an expert jury panel, based on which the Top 20 teams were selected as winners of the 2019 edition of IIGP 2.0 University Challenge. The winning teams represent outstanding innovations in the key sectors of healthcare, water, agriculture, autonomy, energy tech, and environment tech, among others.
With the University Challenge, the IIGP 2.0 aims to build a robust technology and innovation ecosystem in India, starting at the university level, by fostering and supporting student entrepreneurs and innovators from the length and breadth of the country. It is extremely encouraging to see that the winning teams this year represent leading universities from Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III cities in India.
The winning teams were felicitated at a grand awards ceremony in New Delhi on July 17th, 2019. We wish the teams success in their entrepreneurial journey, and are excited to see how their innovations transform into impactful solutions for the nation’s social and industrial sectors.
